The Opinel N° 4 is a handy little knife. It's a keychain and you can even fly with it. We've flown many times with it and never had any problems. On the other hand, we've had three or four dull butter and picnic knives confiscated. One of them was a knife we got at a restaurant in the airport after security - it was taken away at another airport. Another one was a knife Lufthansa handed out for one of the on-flight meals. It, too, was taken away at another airport. It even had the Lufthansa logo on it. Security theatre at its best.
Anyways, this little beauty is always with us and comes in handy when we forget or can't have the Opinel N° 8.
The blade length is 5cm, the haft is made from French beech wood, and the weight is featherlite.
The blade is made from Sandvik stainless steel 12C27M.
