Fermented Cod Liver Oil from Green Pasture - a truly unique health food (and not just because of the omega 3 fatty acids!).
Fermented cod liver oil (FCLO) was once a remarkably highly-regarded health food to support body and mind. It contains EPA and DHA, the whole spectrum of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, as well as important enzymes and quinones. Because all of these vitamins are in their natural form, they are readily absorbed by the body.
Fermented cod liver oil is manufactured traditionally with a highly modern quality control system. Cod livers are fermented without the use of heat for up to six months. A Slow Food in the truest sense. Each batch is then analysed for purity.
What does FCLO taste like and how much should I take?
You can't really compare FCLO to regular cod liver oil. Being lacto-fermented, you'll likely notice a burning sensation in your throat if you take it straight. It's a lot nicer to take it with juice or honey.
Dr. Weston A. Price always gave cod liver oil to his patients together with high vitamin butter oil. He noticed that they worked best in combination. Today, we know this is because of the synergy effects of the vitamins A, D and K2. Butter oil is particularly rich in the latter, FCLO in the former two.

Why we like FCLO
By "like" we don't mean "OMG, this is so tasty, I can't stop"! We mean we like the health benefits and the nutritional content. So many foods are a lot nutrient poorer today than they were 30 or 100 years ago. Our soil is depleted, animals and plants are "made" to grow quicker. Fermented cod liver oil packs a nutritional punch and is therefore and excellent choice if you are looking to enrich your diet.
