Fermented Cod Liver Oil (liquid) - Armorica
Armorica fermented cod liver oil is produced in Europe . The liver comes from Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), caught in the North Atlantic.
Armorica fermented cod liver oil is produced in Wales through the carefully controlled cold lacto-fermentation of cod livers. The livers used are from Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) caught in the waters of the North Atlantic.
The fermentation process requires no heat treatment or chemical extraction. Armorica adds no synthetic vitamins to the oil. The nutrients contained in the product occur naturally in cod liver oil and, as is typical for a natural product, may vary slightly from batch to batch.
Traditional fermented cod liver oil
Cod liver oil has a long tradition in northern European countries. Before industrial production methods became common, cod liver oil was extracted naturally from cod livers. Armorica builds on this traditional production and combines it with modern quality standards.
The fermentation process takes place at low temperatures. A low-oxygen environment is maintained to best protect the delicate fatty acids in the oil. The result is a traditionally produced fermented cod liver oil with naturally occurring vitamin A, vitamin D3, and omega-3 fatty acids.
Sicilian lemon oil
Armorica fermented cod liver oil is flavored with organic lemon oil from Sicilian lemons. The natural lemon oil gives the oil a fresher taste and makes it more pleasant to take.

Iodine content in fermented cod liver oil
Armorica fermented cod liver oil is not a targeted iodine product and is not advertised as a source of iodine. Previous analyses for iodine showed that, if present at all, it was only detectable in very small amounts; it was usually undetectable in the oil.
This is also plausible from a technological perspective: Iodine is water-soluble and binds poorly to fats and oils. Therefore, significant amounts of iodine are not to be expected in an oil product like fermented cod liver oil. Consequently, no iodine analyses have been carried out in recent years.
Why we like Armorica FCLO
We like Armorica FCLO because it's a simple, traditionally made product with a short ingredient list: fermented cod liver oil and organic lemon oil. No synthetically added vitamins, no chemical extraction, and no unnecessary additives.
The cod liver oil fits into a nutrient-conscious diet and is a good choice for anyone who wants a traditional cod liver oil that is produced in Europe using traditional methods but with modern technology.
